Baroque opera returns to the Teatre Principal with one of Antonio Vivaldi’s most significant works.
Although Orlando furioso is rarely performed today, it has earned its place among the masterpieces of the Baroque operatic repertoire. This year marks the 300th anniversary of the premiere of Antonio Vivaldi’s opera. Combining arias and recitatives, the work is based on Ludovico Ariosto’s epic poem of the same name.
